 Announcing my Indefinate Departure

The post above pretty much says it all. The development community here is still going, the software will always have it's home here. Given my absense over the last 2 years, I'm not sure my departure means a whole lot, but none the less, I thought I would at least say Goodbye to everyone! :)

Neme/Istari: I'll have more information for you in the Dev fourm.

 Support Forum Re-Orginization

For a while now, the chaos that has been the support forum has been driving me crazy, so I'm going to abuse my power and clean up the mess while Illydth is on Vacation!

Announcing the Release of WRM 4.2.0

WRM 4.2.0 is now officially released and can be found in the support forums. Reminder that WRM 4.2.0 is now PHP5 only, sorry to all those who are for whatever reason stuck on a PHP4 server.

Slowing Down: Release 4.1.4 Will likely be last on the 4.1.x line

Thank you to EVERYONE who's taken a hand in debug, test, code, etc. for the 4.1.x line of code. Thankfully, it looks like the VAST majority of issues are now fixed within the 4.1.3 code base and a few that have cropped up are already checked in for 4.1.4.

The probability is that 4.1.4 (I'll give it another week or two before I release to see if anyone comes up with other issues on it) will be the last version of 4.1. After that I'll start a patches thread and simply keep you all updated (as I have in past releases) with patches to the base 4.1.4 for any bugs that need fixed.

Once that happens I'll be starting work in earnest on 4.2.0 with hopefully not so many errors the next time around and hopefully not released a year from now like 4.1 was.

Again, I'd like to thank everyone who's been involved in the testing, debugging, and problems of 4.1 so far and a huge thanks to all of my users for putting up with me through this release as I "got back into it".

 WRM 4.1.2 (Final) Released

The newest version in the WRM 4.1 Line (WRM 4.1.2) has been released.

Included within this one are a slew of bug fixes to several parts of the system including the installer.

Also included are new "generic" raids (as requiested) that are tagged to the Cataclysm release at the moment (if you'd like to schedule a "generic" event select "cataclysm" as the WoW Expansion and select either Raids or Groups for the generic 25/10 man and 5/Heroic 5 mans (respectively).

Finally, this version fixes multiple major security bugs across multiple files in the application. If you are on any 4.x version of WRM you are strongly encouraged to upgrade as soon as possible.

You can find the new files at the download link on the left side menu.

WRM 4.2 will Support PHP5 Only...

Please see the announcement post in the announcement forums for more information.

In essence, I don't have the ability to continue to support both PHP4 and PHP5 within WRM. There are too many changes going into PHP to continue to provide support for both releases.

As of WRM 4.2 (no announced release date), the required version of PHP to run the software will become AT LEAST PHP v5.0 and MAY become PHP 5.2. (I'm open to posts explaining why you can't move from 5.0 - 5.2).

See the following URL for more information:

WRM 4.2 and PHP5 Announcement.

Happy New Year to all of my WRM users...

While I had a few seconds during my new years celebration, I thought I'd take a moment out and wish everyone here at a happy new year!

May your raids go well, your guild members show up, your software never break...

And may you and yours have the best year in 2011 ever.

From those of us here at to those of you out there.

Happy New Year.

 Old Forums Locked

It's now been a few weeks that we've been on the new PHPBB Forums on the boards and I've heard of no major issues with them, so I've gone ahead and locked the old forums.

They're still accessible, you just can't post to them.

Also, please follow the "phpBB Forums" link to get to the real forums instead of the "Forums" link at the bottom (which is now locked).

Thanks for Understanding.

See the following post for more information as well as more Website Updates incoming.

 Website Update

The website has been updated and PHPBB3 has been installed as our forums software, more updates are in progress but none of them should take down the website itself.

Please read the post below for more information.  If you cannot get to that post, please PM me and let me know.

I am also creating a "bugs" page in the "Website Support/Suggestions" forum that identifies issues with the website and workarounds or fixes.  Please see the following forum for information on any bugs or problems that I've found:
